Another 12-volunteering team at Marymound in Winnipeg served a full meal to 150 at-risk youth in partnership with our client IG Wealth Management. (picture)
One of our teams in Northern Manitoba at Keeyask Camp, even held a giant community barbeque for Indigenous neighbours in Fort Chipewyan where food and equipment were airlifted to reach the northern hamlet.
During the 2019 annual Stop Hunger Gala, we raised an unprecedented $222,150, thanks in large part to the generosity of Sodexo suppliers. Over 200 suppliers celebrated with Stop Hunger board members and volunteers, community organizations and Sodexo employees at the Burlington Convention Centre in October.
Three Sodexo employees were also recognized with the Hero of Everyday Life award for their extraordinary contributions to alleviate hunger. Jennifer Merrett, Taneesha Greaves and Trudy MacKenzie received grants totaling $2,000 for charities of their choice.
The Goodness Platorm is an online platform, launched by the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, which allows all Sodexo employees to give more to their communities. This volunteering platform will connect Sodexo employees with opportunities to serve in their community and with other Sodexo employees fighting hunger.
